Holy crap... There's 6 of us!!!: Christmas extravaganza

What a whirlwind! The couple of weeks leading up to Christmas didn't even feel like Christmas was close. I don't know if it was the mild weather we had been experiencing, or the fact that I had completed most of the Christmas shopping in October, but it just didn't feel like it was Christmas already. Now that it's come and gone, I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!

The kids had a little Christmas program at school on Friday. Devin was able to go and film it. He unfortunately missed Molli's little program but caught Declan's. From what he was told, Molli's class sang for about 30 seconds. That's pretty good for 2 and 3 year olds. Declan's program was really cute. They sang 3 different songs, all with motions to go along with it.

We spent Friday evening with Nana and Johnny. The kids also got to see Uncle Brendan, which they were really excited about. Declan and Molli both got kid friendly tablets from Nana and Johnny. Declan loves his, and played it all the way to Marshfield. Molli doesn't quite understand hers yet, but she has been messing with it off and on. With a little assistance, she'll get the hang of it. We had a nice dinner and some quality family time. Nothing says Christmas like a good Chinese take out. Fa ra ra ra ra!

Saturday morning, we packed up and headed over to Marshfield to see Puh Puh and Grandma. As always, as soon as we walked in the door, Declan asked for his dragon and rescue toys and immediately asked Uncle Sam to play with him. Sam is so good with the kids. It's pretty impressive for a 17 year old. He's very patient and is always willing to play whatever they ask him too. Each morning when Sam came downstairs Declan asked him to play. He also made a new friend this weekend, Tyler which is Grandma's 4 year old nephew. Tyler brought his Nintendo DS, but it crapped out shortly after they arrived. Devin provided Declan and Tyler with his, and they bonded over Mario Kart. They took turns after each race.

Molli became quite the schmoozer this weekend. She rocked a cute red dress for Christmas and walked around that house like a little princess. She warmed up to Grandma's neices and also her brother Mark. She would wander from person to person showing them how cute she was. She took quite a liking to Mark, Grandma's brother, but I'm convinced it's because he was feeding her M&Ms :-). Molli is a total girly girl and it's so much fun. She wandered around in a pair of Grandma's high heeled sandles, and refused to let go of the little tinkerbell purse she got for Christmas. She also got a princess dress and jewels from Santa that she insisted immediately on wearing. When she left for school this morning, she wanted to wear her princess shoes. We had to tell her that those are for home only!

It was alo a very exciting weekend for the twins! Rowen rolled over for the first time this weekend! She was only able to do it once before completely wearing herself out trying to do it again, but she did it! Ferren is trying really hard to do it as well, but she's almost there. They also both started really focusing on things, smiling a lot, and cooing. They were able to focus on faces before, but now it seems like they're able to focus on a lot more things. They're still very easily distracted by any source of light! They were also the hit of the Christmas party. They were passed around a lot, but didn't seem to mind all of the attention! They slept almost the entire time!

Christmas morning was fun. Devin and I slept in the living room with the girls since thier crying woke up the kids the night before. I didn't want them getting up too early and we also wanted to be prepared when they did get up in the morning. I set out the cameras on the table so we could catch their faces when they saw that Santa had been there. Puh Puh was up at 6 waiting for them, and we waited... and waited.... and waited. Finally at 7 I decided to go down and check on them, and those little stinkers were wide awake in bed just laying there! When they came upstairs, they were pretty excited. We asked Declan if Santa had eaten the milk and cookies that they left, and he was so distracted by all of the presents that he could hardly answer the question. They both recieved a lot of pretty awsome toys! Declan's favorites appear to be the Hulk and Thor Avenger Action figures and the Power Tower (a toy for his powerwheels that goes on the wall). Molli loved her princess accessories and her new Minnie Mouse jammies! The twins... well... they didn't seem too terribly excited about anything, but we did dress them up in super cute Christmas dresses complete with little santa hats!

Needless to say, we had 4 very tired children this weekend, though you'd never know it with the way they ran around that house! We were able to get them out for a little sledding adventure on a hill that Devin used to go to as a kid. Devin got a good video of Declan running Molli over. She was a total trooper though, and didn't even cry! I think that surprised us all!

So, that was our Christmas. I hope everyone enjoyed theirs as much as we did ours!!
